TAROT!

THE DECK

For seven years, seven women meticulously painted the Dreams and Divinities Tarot deck. This extraordinary 78-card Tarot deck and its accompanying guidebook were inspired by visions, dreams, and an in-depth exploration of the archetypal cards, offering a fresh perspective on classical Tarot symbolism and interpretations.

Curated, designed, and produced by Liba Waring Stambollion, this first edition of 777 decks is a testament to her commitment to creating a treasure-worthy Tarot deck. The cards are extra-large and heavy, reminiscent of antique Italian Tarot cards. They are printed on recycled paper with ecological inks and varnishes. The cards were produced in Italy by a company using solar-powered electricity.

Seven internationally recognized women symbolists painted the deck:

  • Amanda Sage
  • Carrie Ann Baade
  • Heidi Taillefer
  • Ila Rose
  • Liba Waring Stambollion
  • Martina Hoffmann
  • Viandara Elfaerian

The collaborative journey involved Viandara Elfaerian’s contribution to the design process. Liba’s digital remixes of Amanda Sage’s aces brought the 2-10 of the Minor Arcana to life. Liba’s brainstorming sessions with Carrie Ann Baade and Martina Hoffmann were instrumental in shaping the deck’s unique character.

Accompanying this magical deck is a guidebook that introduces the intricate connections between the oldest Hebrew esoteric text: the Sefer Yetzirah, the Tarot, and the ancient wisdom underlying them. Primarily, the booklet offers each of the 78 cards a quick reference to its divinatory meaning, seen through the lens of this perspective.

Because the minor arcana are non-figurative, the deck can also be used with other traditions.

The Book: The Tree and the Tarot

Click on the image above to see sample pages.

Modern Tarot is thought to be based on the Kabbalist Tree of Life. Yet the Tarot came out 100 years before the Kabbalistic Tree. So why are they so similar?

The key is in the most ancient esoteric Hebrew system, the Sefer Yetzirah. This short text was examined, translated, and diffused during the early Renaissance and was used in both the Tarot and the later Kabbalist Tree.

In this first book of the trilogy, you will find:

  • A look at the Tarot’s historical origins, beginning with the first 15th-century decks to the 19th and 20th-century Golden Dawn decks.
  • Insight into how the Sefer Yetzirah and other mystical systems affected the Tarot.
  • A four-point perspective on each of the 22 major arcana: the Traditional, Qabbalist, Sefer Yetzirah, and Modern-day viewpoints.
  • A system for understanding the minor arcana, which relies directly on the Sefer Yetzirah and Pythagorean numerology.

This 200-page book is the perfect complement to the Dreams and Divinities Tarot and is illustrated with its paintings as well as 74 other beautiful illustrations.

The book and deck are available in my personal SHOP.
